Teaching with and for Cultural Competence

Thursday, June 05, 2008 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Instructor/Facilitator: Dr. David Ametrano
Room: SL 221

As America and American universities become more and more diverse, there is a need for our students to acquire some degree of intercultural competence. There is also a need for faculty to exhibit intercultural competence in their teaching. This interactive session will explore conceptions of cultural competence, discuss activities and attitudes that foster CC, and brainstorm specific strategies for classroom use. A panel of international students will participate.
