POD Room Scheduling Policy
POD serves NKU's faculty and staff and is the only facility dedicated to NKU faculty and staff training. This central mission and the high demand for its spaces require us to follow a policy of limiting use of its spaces to NKU faculty and staff trainings.
- Scheduling the classrooms for any purpose other than POD workshops or events shall not be accepted more than two months in advance of the desired date and time. No continuing, regular meetings may be scheduled for these rooms. Requests can be made via the web http://rooms.nku.edu (Space Scheduler website). Once the page opens, click on the Login button (under the NKU logo) and login using their NKU username and password (same as their email account). The page will refresh and you will know that you are logged in OK when they see “Welcome – Their Name!” under the Login button. It will be necessary to scroll down to view the Steely Library rooms. If you have trouble logging in, please call x7536. Instructions are available online at http://access.nku.edu/busaux/event_scheduling/scheduler_instructions.htm. The rooms may be scheduled only on a first-come-first-served, case-by-case basis as needed, and may not be block-scheduled.
- The following priority order will apply:
- First Priority
- KTLN (iTV video conferencing) scheduling of SL229/SL240 will have top priority. If your request involves video conferencing, please submit an infra request to I.T by going to the following: https://infra.nku.edu/ infraenterprise/nfraEnterprise.dll?Form=BulletinBoard& SUBMIT=TRUE. Select: Video Conference SR.
- POD, IT, and Steely Library will have first priority for SL235 & SL240 room scheduling.
- Second Priority - NKU Academic Departments and NKU administrative computing.
- Third Priority - NKU Non-Academic Departments and Organizations
- All meetings, programs, and other uses of these classrooms will be scheduled with a minimum of ten minutes between uses. Groups using the classrooms will be responsible for leaving the room ten minutes prior to the next use of the room.
- Any group using the classrooms is responsible for removing trash, food, and serving items when these are brought into the room by that group. These things should be removed before the group leaves the room at the end of their reserved period.
- No software may be installed on the PC's in these classrooms without the consent of POD. In the event a software installation is required for any training, the software must be delivered to POD staff at least two weeks prior to the event.
- Due to the need for maintenance and service, the rooms must have blocks of time that are not scheduled for instructional purposes. The unpredictable nature of maintaining the computer room makes it impossible to always schedule maintenance. All unscheduled hours will be considered available for maintenance.
